The mangroves once covered the eastern shoreline extending south. But then one day it was decided that this was a comfort too ugly to keep around. So we ripped at the roots exposing the striking pale sand of the beach.  Now there is miles upon miles of empty sand constantly bleeding into the ocean. no one to hold it, no where to return. Or similarly you will one day find a fruit so beautiful it feels wrong to eat, and of course this fruit will rot too. When we extend the fantasy what in reality is lost?
